Great Games Going Cheap Right Now: Our June Picks

A few genuinely brilliant games are sitting at some of their lowest prices right now, and a couple of them are absolute no-brainers.

Mid-June and the deals are actually decent for once. A mix of PC classics and a couple of surprises are going cheap right now, so here are the ones worth your attention. I've skipped the obvious filler and focused on games I'd actually recommend to a mate.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

If you somehow still haven't played this, now is the time. Genuinely one of the best RPGs ever made, and that's not hyperbole, it's just the consensus after years of people finishing it and immediately recommending it to everyone they know. The 2022 next-gen update made it look and run better than ever, and both expansions (Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine) are worth more of your time than most full-price games. It's available via HRKGame, which is a grey-market key site, so bear that in mind, but the keys work fine and the saving is significant.

No Man's Sky

Yes, the launch was a disaster. That was nearly a decade ago. Hello Games have been quietly rebuilding this thing into something genuinely special, and it's had more free updates than most live-service games charge for. Base building, multiplayer, story missions, VR support, the lot. It's also one of those games that just runs on anything, which is handy. Also on HRKGame and well below what it usually sits at.

Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader

This one's from Owlcat, the studio behind Pathfinder: Kingmaker and Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. If you've played either of those you already know what you're getting: a dense, crunchy CRPG that rewards patience and punishes button-mashers. The 40K setting is handled with proper care, and the writing is actually good, which you can't always say for licensed games. It launched a bit rough but patches have sorted most of the major issues. Currently heavily discounted at Green Man Gaming, which is a fully authorised retailer, so no grey-market concerns here.

Hollow Knight

One of the best metroidvanias ever made, full stop. Team Cherry built something enormous and atmospheric on what must have been a tiny budget, and it shows in all the right ways. The combat is satisfying, the world is genuinely mysterious, and the difficulty sits in that sweet spot where it's hard but fair. If you've been waiting for Silksong news and haven't played the original yet, sort that out. Going cheap at HRKGame right now.

RimWorld

This is one of those games that's rarely cheap, so when it dips it's worth flagging. It's a colony survival sim with a storytelling AI that generates genuinely ridiculous scenarios. One minute you're farming and trading, the next a psychic mechanoid cluster is attacking while three of your colonists have food poisoning and your best fighter has gone on a bender. Hundreds of hours of content, a massive modding community, and it runs on a toaster. Also at HRKGame.

Final thought

If I had to pick just one from this lot, it's Witcher 3, no contest. But honestly, Hollow Knight and RimWorld at their current prices are close to impulse-buy territory for anyone who hasn't tried them. Check the live prices on each page before you commit, deals like these don't always hang around.
