Great Games Going Cheap Right Now: June 2026
A handful of genuinely good picks are sitting at some of their lowest prices right now, and a couple of them are well worth your attention.
Right, a few things caught my eye trawling through the deals today. Not everything on sale is worth your time, but there are a handful here that genuinely are. Let me save you the legwork.
Returnal (PC)
This one is heavily discounted at Green Man Gaming right now and honestly, if you missed it, now is the time. Returnal is a punishing roguelike third-person shooter that originally launched on PS5 before making its way to PC. It is the kind of game that will absolutely destroy you for an hour and then suddenly click into place. The atmosphere is oppressive, the gunplay is sharp, and the loop is genuinely one of the best in the genre. It is not an easy ride, but it is absolutely worth it. Green Man Gaming keys are grey market, worth knowing, though I have never had an issue personally. Just buy it.
Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader (PC)
Also heavily cut at Green Man Gaming. Owlcat's CRPG set in the 40K universe had a slightly rough launch but has had a fair few patches since. If you are into deep, crunchy RPGs with a proper story and you have any fondness at all for the Warhammer setting, this is well worth picking up now that it has had time to mature. It is long, it is dense, and it rewards patience. Not for everyone, but if it sounds like your thing, it almost certainly is your thing.
Board games: actually some proper deals here
Zatu have a decent chunk of their catalogue sitting well below usual prices right now. A few worth calling out specifically:
- Terraforming Mars is one of the best engine-building games ever made. Proper depth, lots of replayability, and a theme that actually makes sense mechanically. If you do not own it already, this is a no-brainer.
- Wingspan remains one of the most accessible gateway games for people who are new to hobby board gaming. It looks beautiful, it plays smoothly, and it does not overstay its welcome. Great for getting non-gamers on board.
- Root is a brilliant asymmetric game where every faction plays completely differently. It takes a session or two to get your head round, but once it clicks it is one of the most interesting games on a table. Currently going cheap, which does not happen all that often.
Marathon (PC)
Bungie's extraction shooter has had a mixed reception since launch and honestly the community is still figuring out how it feels about it. It is going below its usual price at Green Man Gaming already, which tells its own story. Worth a look if you are curious and the price is low enough to justify experimenting, but do not go in expecting Destiny. It is a different beast and not everyone has warmed to it. I would say keep your expectations realistic.
Final thought
Returnal is the one I would shout about loudest if you are a PC gamer. It is a genuinely special game and it is going cheap right now. The board game deals on Zatu are solid too, especially Terraforming Mars and Root if you are building out a collection. Marathon is interesting but approach it with caution rather than excitement. Check the live prices on the links above as they can shift quickly.
