Games Worth Grabbing Right Now: June 2026 Deals Roundup
A few genuinely good games are going cheap right now, and some of them are worth picking up without thinking too hard about it.
Right, a handful of things caught my eye this week. Some are video games, some are board games, all of them are currently sitting well below their usual price. I've picked out the ones I'd actually recommend rather than just listing everything, because nobody needs that.
Returnal is one of the cheapest it's been on PC
If you missed this when it came out, now is a genuinely good time to fix that. Returnal is a roguelite third-person shooter with some of the best-feeling gunplay on PC, and it is properly hard in a way that respects your intelligence rather than just padding out the difficulty. The time loop stuff is baked into the story, not just a mechanical excuse. It runs well on PC, looks stunning, and has a full save system now so you're not locked into marathon sessions like at launch. Going cheap right now at Green Man Gaming. Worth it.
Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader for the CRPG crowd
Owlcat Games doing 40K in the style of Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. If that sentence means anything to you, you already know whether you want this. It's a big, crunchy, turn-based CRPG set in the Koronus Expanse, and it's exactly as niche and brilliant as that sounds. The writing is strong, the world building is dense in the good way, and there's a lot of game here. It launched a bit rough but patches have sorted most of the major issues. Currently on sale at Green Man Gaming and well worth a look if you've got the patience for a proper RPG.
Board games: a few good ones are on sale at Zatu right now
Not usually what you'd expect from a PC gaming deals site, but Zatu has a load of genuinely great board games going cheap right now, so it'd be daft not to mention them.
- Terraforming Mars is one of the best engine-building games ever made. It takes a while to learn but once it clicks, it really clicks. If you've got a regular group, this is a brilliant addition. Well below its usual price right now.
- Root is an asymmetric strategy game where every faction plays completely differently. It looks cute, it is absolutely not cute once someone plays the Eyrie Dynasties wrong and collapses their entire engine on turn three. Brilliant, occasionally maddening, currently going cheap.
- Wingspan is the one to buy if you want something that looks gorgeous on the table and plays smoothly enough for people who don't normally do board games. The bird theme is genuinely charming rather than just a skin. One of the cheapest it's been right now.
- Sky Team is a two-player co-op game about landing a plane, and it is tense in a way that feels almost unfair. You and your co-pilot can't talk during the round, only place dice and hope. Absolutely recommend it if you want something short, sharp, and stressful in a fun way.
What I'd skip
Marathon is in the list but I'd hold off. It's Bungie's extraction shooter and the reception has been mixed at best. It might find its feet over time, but right now the player numbers are shaky and the gameplay loop hasn't fully landed for a lot of people. Cheap or not, it's a risk.
Bananagrams is fine for what it is but it's also the sort of thing that turns up in charity shops constantly. You can probably find it locally for next to nothing if you look.
The short version
Returnal and Rogue Trader are both legitimately great PC games going cheap right now, and they're the standouts from this batch. On the board game side, Terraforming Mars, Root, and Sky Team are all worth picking up at these prices if you have any interest in the hobby. Check the live prices on each page before you buy, because these deals move fast.
